It is Tuesday as I write this, and I am at one of my favorite business places: my store in Doesburg, the Ligier and Experience Store Doesburg. And there is nothing happening. Just like the neighbors and the dealers I talk to. Since Saturday, it has been quiet… in sales, that is!

Of course, dealer companies with a damage department are busy, and the workshops are still well filled, but sales are quiet.

That is not very surprising, because the NOS does everything to keep you at home and certainly not on the road in the coming days (the first week of 2026). And so it is quiet in the stores.

Yesterday I spoke to someone who wanted to come by, but due to the snow, halfway there they decided to return home. So far, no concrete follow-up appointment for a viewing has been made, and that stings… After all, a good start to 2026 is half the work.

But what can you do as a salesperson? There are still leads. Many leads from the past three months that have not yet bought and might still be in the market.

So I made a selection, which is actually very easy with Walcu, of all leads who submitted a request for a Lynk & Co, with the status ‘not yet sold’ and with a write-off reason that offers opportunities. So not ‘bought elsewhere’, but for example ‘no agreement on price’.

I sent all these people this email:

I sent a different email to the Ligier customers, but with a similar message. And now, a few hours later, I have already been able to make two appointments with seemingly lost leads. They are coming to view on Saturday, provided the snow does not interfere….

Of the 689 leads, 83 have already opened and read the email (you can see that in Walcu as well…). So even though little is happening, you should — or rather must — always ask yourself: which appointment can I make today? Despite the bad weather, we did not sit idle, and it is already paying off.
